We do computers because this is what we love, its more than a hobby, its what we love to do, we are that sick breed of person who truly thrives on it. We also love building Websites, Networks and Web Enabling everything we can and for us it is what makes computers almost and addiction. This is truly a labor of love, We would be doing this even if there was no money in it.
We love technology.
Ok, that may sound totally corny but its true.
Hello, my name is Timothy Tuck and i started Pervasive Netwerks around Nov of 2001. I Co-Authored the Windows to Linux Migration Toolkit from Syngress Press. Most of us have been using computers for well over 15 years. Myself, i had been in the Electronics Industry in R&D in some capacity or another and never farther than 5 feet from computers for well over 25 years now. I have worked on every kind of office equipment you can name over the years and for notable companies such as Logitech and Cisco Systems in R&D as Senior Engineering Techs and Prototyper. When i started using computers it was all about CPM and UNIX, DOS didn't really exist yet. Neither did Microsoft technically. While I could never have predicted a lot of what has happened since then, we are more than fluent with every new technology before most people have even heard of it..
For us, these are Very exciting times, with computers becoming more pervasive in everyday life, some of us are the ones who really get it. We are the ones who make these things happen, we are so much more than just the "Early Adopters".
As a friends mom who knows me once described me~ :o)
Some people use technology, others play with it. We are the ones who are inventing today, what you will use tomorrow.
This has never been more true than right now.
Yes computers are about Technology and Business's rely on them but isn't it much nicer when you don't have to know what is inside and it just always works. Isn't it?
We know and understand this. The way to work Smarter today is to web enable whatever you can. Preferably at little or no cost, right? While we support everything out there, we have chosen to work closely with Linux and the Open Source community. Because of the incredible high quality, enhanced security, reliability and their adherence to open standards we are frequently able to deliver solutions custom tailored to our customers specific needs for little or no money in terms of licensing cost.
The Internet is a Unix environment and a product of open standards not of proprietary standards, so are computers in general. Open standards are truly what has enabled and fired the computer/internet revolution to begin with. The modern PC is a product of open standards. When IBM released the first PC they chose a Open Hardware Platform, that enabled everyone else to follow suit (not that they were happy about it at the time). The pace that open source and Linux is evolving at can only be described as phenomenal!
Remember Windows is essentially dos and dos is almost 25 years old, Linux however is 10 years old and much more powerful than windows at ten, personally it is ready for the desktop, but you have to relearn some things, soon that wont be the case though. There is so much new software coming out (of Very high Quality that is free and incredibly stable too) every day, its getting harder to keep up. For us this is like being a kid in a candy shop, its all you can eat and its all free.
That is right!, The licensing is Open, so you are free to use it, copy it, and redistribute, just gotta give the next guy the same thing you have, the access to the source code that made it all possible.
That is the magic difference too, programs evolve very rapidly and most importantly they stabilize sooner. Just think. No more licensing audits ever again.
As i said before, it is a Very exciting time for us to be alive and we love what is happening, yes things are moving faster now , that is why its so important to work smarter rather than harder. We can show you the solutions that enable this. Its all Open Source, its reliable, its free and we can help you with making the switch. Contact us
